Faith Farm and Orchard Launches Year-Round Food Box and Pantry Program

This week, representatives from Faith Farm and Orchard launched a food box and pantry program. As a service to the community, we provide fresh, organic vegetables, herbs, and other perishables and non-perishables to the public free of charge.

During the Facebook Live announcement, Whittaker and Faith CDC administrator Freida Graves showed the contents of the box. In addition to food, ordinary people can also obtain household and hygiene items, hats and gloves. The program is run by the Honors system and the program organizers require residents to receive only the items they need.

Whittaker also shared that he purchased two pantries to place on the farm, for a total of 10 pantries. His goal is to locate his remaining eight pantries in various locations around the city of Gary with the help of local businesses, churches and nonprofits.
